Welcome to the Anacortes Senior Activity Center Foundation

The Anacortes Senior Activity Center Foundation (ASACF) has been proudly providing critical financial support to the Anacortes Senior Activity Center (ASAC) since 1984.

Did you know?

  • 50% of Anacortes residents are over the age of 50, and 39% are over 60.
  • Social isolation and loneliness among older adults are linked to increased risks of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, cognitive decline, and Alzheimer’s.
  • Older adults who engage in Senior Center programs experience measurable improvements in their physical, emotional, and mental well-being, and they are better able to manage and delay the onset of chronic disease.

Make a difference in the lives of our seniors through your donations and legacy gifts.

6th Unconventional Runway Show!

Please join us on May 24 at the Swinomish Casino for an unforgettable evening with friends, great food, entertainment, and of course a very Unconventional Runway Show.

ASACF's mission is to raise funds for the Anacortes Senior Activity Center. Please come prepared to help fulfill our mission.

The evening includes a welcome drink, appetizers, dinner, silent auction,  dessert dash and more.

As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Center’s move to its current location, we are committed to meeting the evolving needs of our seniors. While we typically raise funds for specific projects, this year we are taking a more holistic approach, focusing on upgrading equipment, replacing furniture and updating and reorganizing interior space. These improvements are essential to ensuring the Center remains a thriving hub for our older adults and accommodate the growing need for additional program areas.

The Center is a joyful gathering spot to find meaningful emotional and social connections. It is a safe place to continue a journey of lifelong learning in an environment specifically designed to help our seniors thrive.

Your Distributions Can Make a Difference

If you are 70 1/2 years of age or older, you can donate directly from your IRA account to the Anacortes Senior Activity Center Foundation with a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). A QCD is not counted as income and no income tax is paid on the charitable distribution. This may be a tax benefit to you, while supporting older adults in our community.

"There are many ways to improve skills or learn something new. You Tube has videos on how to play ukulele and how to carve wood.  I could sit at my computer and get the skills I want to acquire.  However, when I take a class at the Senior Center on wood carving or play in a jam with ukulele I get to not only learn new skills but also get to know many wonderful people.  That is a very nice bonus!"
