Supporting Local Seniors for 49 Years

Where We Started

In 1973, as many senior centers were sprouting up all over the country with encouragement from the Older American's Act, the City of Anacortes and Skagit County joined together to create the Anacortes Senior Center (later renamed Anacortes Senior Activity Center). The Center's first home was in the basement of Pilgrim Congregational Church. It later made its home in two storefronts on Commercial Ave. and eventually in the basement of City Hall. In 1995, with the help of a Community Development Block Grant and much community support, a new facility was constructed in its present location.

Where We're Going

In the Anacortes Senior Activity Center's 49 years of existence, staff, volunteers and the community have continually come together to make the Center the best that it can be as a community focal point offering support, activities, and opportunities for service. The ASAC Foundation remains committed to offering the support necessary to help meet the needs of the continually growing senior population in our Anacortes community.

You Can Help

The ASAC hours are 9am-4pm to serve the seniors of Anacortes. The Center has something for everyone...activities, lunch, classes, connecting with friends as well as making new ones.

With your donation you can help with expenses needed to support our activities and classes, expand our social phone call program and help with continuing operational expenses required to keep the building functioning well.
