Svenja Simon-Marshall
Executive Director
Svenja grew up in Germany, and moved to the United States in 1995. Thanks to her husband’s career in the US Navy, she has since then lived in several different countries and US States before making Anacortes their home in 2014, with their two (now adult) children and numerous pets. Having moved 14 times in 20 years, she has found that volunteering in local nonprofits is not only important to the health of a community, but it’s also a meaningful path to finding a place within that community. Since moving here, she has been actively involved in several nonprofits, such as the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce, the Anacortes Community Theater, the Anacortes Family Center, and the Sunflower F.U.N.D.
Svenja joined the Anacortes Senior Activity Center Foundation in 2022. She holds an MBA and a Master Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership and is excited to bring her expertise to the Foundation, as she believes that a vital community is an inclusive one that connects older adults to resources, activities and opportunities to remain active, healthy and engaged.
You Can Help
The ASAC hours are 8am-4pm to serve the seniors of Anacortes. The Center has something for everyone...activities, lunch, classes, connecting with friends as well as making new ones.
With your donation you can help with expenses needed to support our activities and classes, expand our social phone call program and help with continuing operational expenses required to keep the building functioning well.
