Executive Director
Job Description
The Anacortes Senior Activity Center Foundation (ASACF) Executive Director partners with the ASACF board of directors with a focus on fundraising, donor cultivation, communication and raising community awareness of the ASACF, thereby enabling the Foundation to address the nutritional, social, informational and advocacy needs of Anacortes area seniors.
Position Overview
The Executive Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and management in support of fundraising and operations of the foundation. The position reports to the Board President.
Work Hours
Part time, 15 - 20 hours per week.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Resource Development. Establishes, implements, and supports plans for fundraising, donor cultivation, event strategy and planning, and communications. Build and maintain relationships with community members and other organizations.
- Manages all strategies for the annual cycle, including calendaring, external communication and monitoring strategic goals. These currently include:
- Annual direct-mail appeal
- Annual fashion show gala event, in collaboration with the Marketing and Fundraising Committee
- Bi-Monthly foundation newsletter
- Develops new strategies, including both corporate and individual donations, as well as grants and other sources of funding.
- Takes an active role in donor identification and development.
- Assists the Governance Committee in cultivating new volunteers and potential board members through community contact and outreach.
- Serves as primary spokesperson in the community to expand awareness and build effective relationships.
- Develops and implements marketing and public relations efforts to enhance awareness of the ASACF in the community.
- Assists in developing collaborative and effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, community partners, and members of the ASACF board of directors.
Administration and Operations: As primary contact for all Foundation activities,
- Maintains donor records and acknowledges gifts on a timely basis
- Manages grant process, providing timely and accurate reporting
- Develops board agendas with board president
- Assists committee chairs as needed to develop agendas for committee meetings
- Attends committee meetings
- Takes minutes for committee and board meetings
- Manages Foundation files
- Manages Foundation website and social media.
- Manages Little Green Light donor management software
Financial Administration
- Collaborates with the Treasurer on interpreting and communicating financial information
- Reviews all financial reports and investment accounts
- Collaborates with the Treasurer in developing an annual budget
- Reviews and approves all grant submissions
- Signatory on all bank accounts
- Oversees internal controls
- Collaborates with the Secretary and Treasurer in interacting with government agencies
Candidate Profile
Required
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships
- Passionate about support for seniors
- Excellent presentation skills; comfortable communicating with and building relationships with leadership in business, community organizations and media
- Relevant non-profit management experience, preferably working with seniors.
- Experience working with volunteers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and project management skills and strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a variety of stakeholders
- Strong technology skills including competency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Meet).
- A willingness to be immersed in the community
- Familiarity with social media, including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Preferred
- Proven and successful experience in designing, managing and executing fund development programs including personal contact and other activities such as mail, phone and events
- Local community connections
Compensation
Pay Range: $36 - $48 per hour DOE
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
